Hartpury are largely unchanged – from the team that started last week – for the visit to Richmond RFC (Saturday 29th September, 3pm).
As expected, lock forward and skipper, Simon Linsell, has yet to recover from a shoulder knock sustained in the 23-17 victory over Coventry. There is experienced cover, however, in the form of Joe Quinn, who gets his first league start of the season.
The selection means a second run-out for 21-year old Hartpury University undergraduate, Ervin Muric. Muric, who has five caps for Belgium to his name, was a pre-match replacement for Jake Henry in the Coventry game and showed no sign of being stage-struck on his debut.
Henry, meanwhile, is well again and will provide Hartpury with a strong option off the bench. As there is no Harry Cochrane in the 22 this week, Mike Wilcox will move to scrum-half in the event of any injury to Richard Bolt.
There is one rotation among the replacements, where Mike Flook comes in as the back-up loose-head.
Games between these two sides have largely been close, exciting affairs over the past few campaigns, from National League 2 right up to the Greene King IPA Championship. Hartpury will be keen to balance out recent results, which twice saw Richmond snatch final-minute victories last season.
The Red & Blacks do have a reasonable record at the Richmond Athletic Ground, having won on both of their visits in National 1.
In the absence of Linsell, former Gloucester prop forward Dan Murphy will lead the side.
