Luke Eves and Mike Wilcox return at centre and full-back respectively, as Hartpury again announce a changed squad for the second match of their Championship Cup ‘double header’ with Cornish Pirates.
Both players will be making their first appearances in the competition, which is now into Round 4, although the hoped-for return of a longer-term absentee, Steve Leonard, is back on ice after he pulled up in training this morning.
Also fit again is hooker, Will Tanner, and he will provide impact from the bench, as Luke Stratford is retained following his hard-working effort in Cornwall last Sunday.
Simon Linsell returns to the starting XV as skipper, while Rupert Harden is also back after missing last week’s trip.
Luke Scully – on loan from Worcester Warriors – gets his first start at fly-half, after a second-half cameo in Penzance which included a harsh yellow card for an adjudged high tackle, and Elias Caven steps up for his first RFC game of the season on the wing. Harry Cochrane is picked on the other flank and, with no scrum half on the bench, will provide cover for Charlie Chapman at 9.
After appearing at Bedford two weeks ago, Tawake Tomasi gets another chance on the bench, where he is joined by Tom Everard and Jamie Forrester, both of whom appeared in BUCS Super Rugby in midweek.
The game kicks off, at the Gillman’s Ground, at 2.30pm.
