Hartpury welcome back some recent absentees as they go in search of their first win of the Championship Cup competition. Following defeats to London Irish and Bedford Blues, the Red & Blacks face another tough test as they make the 450-mile round-trip to Penzance and the home of the Cornish Pirates.
Back into the starting line-up, following two months out with injury, comes lock forward Joe Quinn, who is paired with England U20 international, James Scott, on dual-registration from Worcester Warriors.
Also returning, after missing last week’s outing at Bedford, is back row forward, Tom Pashley, who will skipper the side. Regular captain Simon Linsell will start on the bench.
Undergraduates Tom Seabrook and Charlie Chapman both get starts after playing for Gloucester United last weekend, while another student, Nick English, steps up from BUCS Super Rugby to make his debut for Hartpury RFC.
Connor Edwards, who also missed the Bedford match, returns in the centre alongside Seabrook while Hartpury’s U18 Head Coach, Wayne Thompson, makes his first appearance of 2018-19 among the replacements, where he will join Jordan Liney, who will make his RFC debut after being a late withdrawal last week. Luke Scully, another DR from the Warriors and a young fly-half, is another who will look to add impact on debut.
The game kicks off at 2.30pm on Sunday at the Mennaye Field, Penzance.
