Hartpury have stuck with the majority of the group which put in an encouraging performance against the Falcons for the visit of Doncaster Knights in the first round of the Greene King IPA Championship tomorrow.
The major, enforced, changes are in the second row, where neither of last week’s starters, Joe Batley or Harry Butler, are available.
With Tom Jubb still out through concussion and Tom Everard coming off a big midweek university game, the Red & Blacks will give starts to Chunya Munga and Justin Clegg, dual registered from London Irish and Worcester Warriors respectively.
The remainder of the pack is fairly settled. Rupert Harden’s injury sees Alex Gibson continue at tight-head, with summer-signing Ashley Challenger as back-up.
Loose-head, Des Merrey, makes a welcome return to the squad for the first time in 2019-20 and Will Crane has no lasting effects from the blow to the throat he sustained last week.
The loose trio has a solid and balanced look, with the vast experience of Akapusi Qera alongside the younger talents of Will Safe and Seb Nagle-Taylor.
The back division is unchanged, with the exception that George Simpson will start and Mike Wilcox swaps to his seat on the bench.
This means a further opportunity for half-backs Luke Carter and Joshua Bragman to groove together and, also, another run-out for the young centre pairing of Joe Margetts and Jack Reeves.
The game, at the ALPAS Arena, is a 2.30 kick off.
