Hartpury have made relatively few changes to the squad that will travel to Jersey Reds on Saturday, for Round 5 of the Championship Cup.
Jack Reeves, on the bench last week, comes in at outside centre as the only alteration in the outside backs. Joshua Bragman will start at fly-half, playing outside Jersey native, Harry Cochrane, who was one of Hartpury’s stand-out players at the Falcons, also in the Cup, last Friday.
With Mike Flook injured, Ashley Challenger steps into the tight-head slot, after appearing off the bench in Newcastle. The other changes in pack are at lock, where Tom Jubb makes a long-awaited return after a head knock sustained in the opening fixture of the season, and at Number 8, where last week’s try-scorer, half-time replacement Seb Nagle-Taylor, returns to the starting line-up.
There are no great surprises on the bench either. Dan Murphy, Alex Gibson and Akapusi Qera all return after missing the Falcons match, while Tom Everard continues to split his time between the RFC and university rugby.
Hartpury, who are still seeking a first win the Championship Cup competition, will be encouraged by recent performances, which have seen them win three out of their last four in the league before putting in a very creditable performance, in defeat, at Kingston Park.
Saturdays match at the Stade Santander International kicks off at 3pm.
