As is so often the case, there is more than a hint of Hartpury about the Gloucester Rugby squad named for the group stage of this years’s Singha Premiership Rugby 7s Series.
Led by former AASE scrum half, Callum Braley (pictured), the squad includes Will Safe, Harry Randall, Mason Tonks, Mathew Protheroe, Dan Thomas, Lewis Ludlow, Lloyd Evans, Elliott Creed and Harry Wilson – all connected to the College by virtue of being either current or former students or as performers for the RFC in National 1.
A further squad member, Joe Mullis, is scheduled to start a degree at Hartpury in September.
Gloucester, the reigning champions, have a fine record in this now traditional pre-season contest and will launch their defence of the trophy this coming Friday, 29th July, at Franklin’s Gardens, Northampton.
Another current student, Jonas Mikalcius, will be representing his new club, Harlequins Rugby, at the event.
Anybody wanting to watch the Hartpury talent in action will be able to do so via BT Sport.
Good luck to all the lads!
