Saturday promises to be a fantastic day at Hartpury University RFC, with the visit of top-of-the-table Newcastle Falcons, live-screening of the Scotland vs England Calcutta Cup match from Murrayfield and a number of fantastic opportunities available to winners/bidders in our raffles and silent auctions in support of the “My Name’5 Doddie” Foundation, which raises funds to support into Motor Neuron Disease.
Added to that, the weather looks set to remain bright and sunny and our friends at Gloucester Rugby do not have a fixture this weekend.
All of the above, along with the number of enquiries that we are receiving, points to the fact that the crowd at the Alpas Arena may be larger than normal this weekend. As our regular supporters will know, we do not sell individual match tickets before the day of the game, so we have no way of knowing, in advance, approximately how many will turn up. However, you can rest assured that the club will be taking steps to ensure that there is enough food, beer, soft drinks and toilets to ensure that everybody can come and enjoy the game in comfort.
Seating is finite, so if you prefer to sit or, more importantly, if you have to sit, please just try to get here in good time to ensure that spare seats are available. If seating is not an issue for you, then there will be plenty of space around the pitch for you stand and watch the game in the Gloucestershire sunshine…
Similarly with parking. We will have enough free spaces for all of you, but if you prefer to make the (already short) walk to the Arena as short as possible, please also get here in good time. Otherwise, please be patient as our stewards direct you to the most appropriate areas.
Finally – do come! Everyone will get in! As usual, it’s £15 per adult and £10 for concessions (e.g. OAPS, non-Hartpury students with a student ID). Anybody 16 or younger gets in free, as do all Hartpury students and staff (with ID). Dogs on a lead are also very welcome.
This will be our last game against the Falcons this season and, no doubt, all of the coaches and players will be doing everything that they can to produce the unexpected. You wouldn’t want to miss it!
