Hartpury University RFC are pleased to confirm that young three-quarter, Deago Bailey, has joined the club on dual-registration from parent club, Bristol Bears.
He joined the Bears Academy in 2020 and is considered to have a bright future at Ashton Gate.
Having been involved with the England Under 18 set up, he was a member of the U20 squad which won an impressive Six Nations Grand Slam earlier this summer.
He now brings to four the members of that squad who are now available to be selected by Hartpury, joining our own Tommy Mathews, as well as Bears clubmate Alex Groves and Gloucester loanee Josh Gray.
During the match against Scotland a the Arms Park, Cardiff, Deago scored a try with a fine winger’s finish, on the outside, which you can watch here
Deago watched the Hartpury squad train today and is likely to be involved in the team run on Friday.
Hartpury play host to the Cornish Pirates in Week 2 of this year’s RFU Championship on Saturday, with the match kicking off at 2.30pm at the Alpas Arena.
We would like to thank Bears for showing confidence in Hartpury as a destination where Deago can continue to develop his game.
