Hartpury continue to stay reasonably settled ahead of this weekend’s trip to Bedford Blues, although there is the return of a familiar face in the pack.
The back division is exactly the same as that which kicked-off last Saturday’s home fixture with Jersey Reds. That means that there’s a start for Luke Eves, who was drafted in as a last-minute replacement for that match, due to a late injury to Joe Margetts.
There are a small number of changes in the pack, the majority of which are squad rotation.
The exception to that is in the second row, where former club skipper, Simon Linsell, has returned on loan from Gloucester Rugby. Linsell was an exceptionally consistent performer for the club last season and will be a very welcome addition to the current squad.
The other changes are in the front row, where Will Tanner and Mike Flook come in for Will Crane and Alex Gibson respectively, and at blind-side where three-time World Cup player Akapusi Qera replaces Iain Grieve.
Crane, Gibson and Grieve all form part of a strong bench, where they will be joined by forwards Des Merrey and Rob Fuller. A five/three split gives room for Harry Cochrane, the now-recovered Margetts and England age-group centre, Jack Reeves, to offer impact.
The game at Goldington road kicks off at 3pm.
