Ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Ealing Trailfinders, Hartpury are showing a number of changes to the team that so nearly clinched an amazing comeback victory over Bedford Blues last weekend.
England Under-20 international and Gloucester Academy prop, Ciaran Knight, makes his first start for the Red & Blacks after a number appearances from the bench in recent weeks. Also in the pack, there is a return for Joe Quinn at lock.
Outside them, Charlie Chapman returns from U20 duty for Scotland to replace the unavailable Harry Randall at scrum half. Randall yesterday announced his impending move to Bristol Rugby, so we may get a chance to see yet another Hartpury old boy in Premiership action next season.
Ed Coulson gets a chance at 13, while Harry Cochrane on the left wing also provides cover at 9.
Tight-head Rupert Harden remains in the squad and will be able to add impact from the bench. Two other age-grade internationals, Ben So’oialo-Chan and Aaron Hinkley are also among the replacements, as are two of the heroes of Hartpury’s British Universities triumph from Wednesday night, try-scorer Maliq Holden and hooker Will Crane.
Dan Murphy will lead the side.
