Hartpury welcome back Charlie Powell and Sam Graham to their starting fifteen for the trip to Jersey in Round 18 of this season’s Greene King IPA Championship.
The Bristol Bears duo have both been impressive in their appearances for the Red & Blacks so far this season and are welcome additions to the side that beat Nottingham last time out.
Not available is scrum-half Ben Vellacott, being held back by Gloucester as possible injury cover, meaning a start against his hometown club for the lively Harry Cochrane, who will be looking to replicate his man-of-the-match performance in the home win over Richmond in February.
The forwards, who have gone well in recent weeks, show only one change, as Graham’s return at Number 8 sees Rob Langley move to the bench. Tom Dodd moves across to 6, with Akapusi Qera on the open side.
Sam Leeming continues outside Cochrane at fly-half, with Jack Tovey and Powell creating an all-Bears centre pairing. Tom Seabrook is in on the wing, with regulars Ben Foley and Mike Wilcox completing the back three. Luke Eves is currently in Dubai as a coach for Hartpury’s Under-18 squad, en route to the World Schools Festival in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
The bench has a largely familiar look, although Charlie Chapman and Jack Reeves are both available to offer youth and pace later in the game.
Saturdays game, at the Stade Santander International, kicks off at 3pm.
