Hartpury settled for Jersey trip

Hartpury remain relatively settled ahead of the trip to Jersey Reds this weekend. The starting XV shows an unchanged backline, while the four changes in the pack are more to do with squad rotation and returning players, rather than injury.

Hooker and Jersey native, Luke Stratford, celebrates his return to his home island with his first start of the season while co-captain Will Crane – the club’s second highest try-scorer this season – swaps to the bench.

Similarly in the second row, James Scott get his first start after two performances as a replacement, with Dale Lemon moving in the opposite direction.

In back row, Xavier Hastings completes his return to full fitness with a starting berth for the first time since Ealing on the opening day, while Bristol Bears’ James Dun starts for Hartpury for the first time since 2018. Like Hastings, he played in the closing stages of the Bedford game last week.

Among the replacements, Olly Adkins, Josh Gray and Matty Jones are all back after being unavailable last week.

The game kicks off at the Stade Santander International at 2.15pm on Saturday. Hartpury will then a get weekend off, before welcoming Doncaster Knights to the Alpas on 20th November.
