Injuries force changes as Hartpury prepare for critical home fixture

Injuries and requirements elsewhere have forced Hartpury into changes for their important home game with Nottingham Rugby tomorrow night (Friday, 7.45pm kick off).

Winger Jake Henry, impressive in recent fixtures, has damaged a hand, meaning a first start for Bristol winger Aaron Chapman.  The powerful 20 year-old, who has played in the England age grades, was due to join Hartpury on dual-registration last season, before injury intervened.

Another Bristol loanee, Tiff Eden, is needed by his club this weekend, meaning a start at 10 for Hartpury’s own bright young prospect, Sam Leeming.

Luke Eves is back in the starting line-up after playing a full half on his return at Ealing, while Hartpury are pleased to have retained the services of last week’s double try-scorer, scrum-half Ben Vellacott.

The pack sees Dan Murphy starting, in a straight swap with Des Merrey, in an otherwise unchanged front five.

Lewis Ludlow is not available this week, providing the perfect opportunity for long-term injury absentee, Rob Langley, to return against his former club.  At Number 8, Tom Dodd replaces the injured Sam Graham.

Another back row man returns on the bench, where the experienced Iain Grieve is named.
