Hartpury University RFC are pleased to announce that a number of players have joined us on season-long loans from our friends at Gloucester Rugby.
Hartpury Director of Rugby, John Barnes, welcomed their arrival saying, “It’s great to have the Gloucester Academy players on board for this season.”
“Many are current or former Hartpury students, so we are pleased we can support these players yet again in their rugby development. They’ve all trained extremely well this summer and are putting their hands up for selection in our pre-season matches.
“A big thank you to Gloucester Rugby and, in particular, George Skivington, Carl Hogg and Pete Walton for their continued support of our Championship progress.”
Of the seven coming in, four have close Hartpury connections – Toby Venner, Olly Adkins, Joe Howard and Ethan Hunt are all either current or former students here. Venner and Adkins have both won BUCS Super Rugby Championship finals at Twickenham, while Howard and Hunt (as well as Adkins again) have won the AASE league with our Under 18s.
The remaining three are equally welcome. Matty Jones and Josh Gray are both returning after being available on a similar basis last season. For Cameron Jordan it is a first campaign in Red & Black although he did play, and score, against us at the Alpas for Coventry last season.
